My Tree Story
Each may be alive with a purpose and foresight.
A tree that quietly exists never moves except just swaying in sync with the wind. Yet it endlessly conversing with the sunlight, soil, and water.
Utilising the sunlight, water and mineral nutrients to grow and flourish. However, all these happen so imperceptibly to me is the same durian tree that I see day in and day out ever since I planted the seed.
A tree though without eye and ear could be watching you or listening to you while you are looking at it.
Without finger or a mouth, it can't grab or speak. But, its leaves and roots continuing to grow in the night whilst you are sleeping or dreaming. When you wake up in the morning the tree is still standing tall remaining the same.
You probably see half of the tree as there is always much more below the depth of the ground than above.
Using the tree as a metaphor, one can feel the trouble with people who are the roots of the problem!
The tree says "Listen, there is something you need to hear..."
If our minds can be alive with a purpose and foresight similar to the tree; then the tree can propel us towards a meaningful way of Quality Work; Quality Life!
When you planted the seed, nothing is happening then you have something when it started sprouting and finally you have everything when it bears fruits!
A tree might provide us with many good answers if we can utilise its strength and perseverance in surviving the nature elements as learning tools; we might have many more breakthroughs!
As each may be alive with a purpose and foresight.
The question is are we up to it?
A good icebreaker for any workshop is to get participants to draw a tree and share a 4 minutes short story being "A Tree Story".
